Vocational Centre

The community of Ndu is one of the country’s most conflict-stricken areas, causing schools to be shut down five years ago. Financially viable families sent their children to schools outside the conflict areas, but most could not afford to do so and were forced to keep their children at home without access to an education.

In response, Baptist women opened a vocational centre to help girls develop skills in sewing, cookery, fashion design, and more. A growing number of girls wish to enroll, and your support will help make it possible for them to receive this life-changing education.

“The objective of this project is to give girls gainful employment after their training. The joy of it all is that we are also building the spiritual life of these girls, so that they can thrive in every way.”

Through a collaboration with the Cameroon Baptist Convention Theological Seminary, the students have a safe place to meet on campus, but they are still in need of equipment, including additional sewing machines, kitchen supplies, farming tools, and computers.

While the region continues to see a prevalence of violence, women from the northwest region in Cameroon are known as peacemakers. They pray for the end of this crisis and believe that their region shall become more productive and innovative through the existence of more skilled girls and women.

Through your Day of Prayer offering, you are making this possible. Thank you for changing this community and for making an eternal difference in the lives of girls and young women in Ndu.
