Commission on the Status of Women

2025CSWDelegation

2027 CSW: March 8-19, 2027

Founded in 1946, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, also known as CSW, is the biggest global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to addressing the needs facing women.

Each March, the Commission convenes the largest gathering of women’s advocates in the world (including ministers, high-level government officials, and civil society representatives) to discuss progress, identify challenges, set policies, and communicate global standards.

The 71st CSW session will take place from March 8-19, 2027, in New York City and virtually. We are currently planning for our in-person delegation to convene from the evening of March 7 through the evening of March 12, 2027. (Delegates may also opt to participate in the Ecumenical Women orientation on Saturday, March 6.) The virtual delegation will convene from March 8 through March 19.

Note:

  • All travel and accommodations costs are the responsibility of the delegate.
  • The number of in-person delegate positions are limited, so all in-person delegate applications must be reviewed and endorsed by the BWA Women Executive Director alongside the applicant’s respective Continental Union President.
  • A virtual information session will take place in September 2026 that will include key information related to costs and accommodations options and the necessary details to submit your official application.

Faith in Action: Dismantling Barriers to Justice for Women

Churches historically have contributed to the problem with misapplication of Scripture often used to justify abuse, but together people of faith can be part of the solution. Join us as we share stories of impact and outline ways for us to be change agents in the stand against gender-based violence. Together we can bring a more just world to women and girls.
