A Legacy of Baptist Women’s
Global Prayer Movement

We commit once again to pray this year in homes, churches, and communities around the world!

Your Day of Prayer Guide

This year we have created a 16-page guide filled with information to help you plan and participate in Day of Prayer, including specific prayer requests and praises from each Continental Union as well as details about this year’s global ministry projects. The guide also includes a Bible study from BWA Women President Karen Wilson. With a commitment to creation care, we are seeking to reduce our carbon footprint through a strategic reduction in printing and shipping of the 2023 Day of Prayer Guides. However, we understand there are still groups in which a printed copy is preferred / necessary. To request printed copies within the continental United States, please click here. To access a printer file for printing in your community or to access a PDF of the digital copy, please click here or you can view or download via the embedded reader below. To access a black and white, text-only version, click here.

You are invited to our annual Global Day of Prayer Worship Celebration!

Make plans to join us online Saturday, October 14, for a powerful time of prayer and praise to kick off the 2023 Day of Prayer observances. Featuring worship, prayer, and ministry updates from our seven Continental Unions, this virtual event will encourage and inspire as we celebrate how God is at work through women around the world and share how we can make a difference together in the coming year.

Expanding Your Day of Prayer Experience

This year we are also excited about additional ways to expand your Day of Prayer experience. Read below to find out more about exciting ways to connect with your Baptist sisters around the world.

Praying in Your Language

Over the last decade, women have translated the Day of Prayer guide into more than 80 languages, enabling thousands of women to participate in their heart language. As we receive translated versions of the guide, we will add them below to ensure they are accessible to all.

In addition, we are always looking for women to add to our translation team. If you are interested in serving as a translator for Day of Prayer or future BWA Women projects, please click to complete a brief information form.

Help Spread the Word

We are busy creating resources to help you promote your Day of Prayer event, including videos, posters, social media graphics, presentation slides, and more. Check back weekly to discover newly added resources or follow us on social media (@BWAWomen) to ensure you have the full array of our resources to promote your gathering. If there is a specific promotional item you would like for your Day of Prayer event (including a special invitation or greeting from BWA Executive Director Merritt Johnston), please email

“Breath of Life” Testimonies & Prayers

We can find so much encouragement through the testimonies of God’s work in and through us. Check out these stories of women around the world who have experienced the breath of life. You will also be encouraged by the global prayers of women interceding for the needs around us.

Study God’s Word Together

There is power in the living Word of God, so we encourage you to join us in a time of study together. We have Bible studies from BWA Women President Karen Wilson as well as BWA Women Executive Director Merritt Johnston along with others from leaders around the world.
