Across the nation of Laos, followers of Christ often face religious restrictions that limit public gatherings and expressions of faith. For Christian women, these restrictions are especially challenging. Many live in rural areas, isolated from one another and from the spiritual encouragement that comes from fellowship with other believers. Opportunities for training, discipleship, and connection are scarce, particularly outside the capital city.
Purpose of the Project
This project seeks to bring Christian women together from across the nation for a special national assembly inspired by the Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer initiative. This gathering will serve as a time of spiritual renewal, unity, and learning – helping women strengthen their faith and relationships with one another.
Through this initiative…
- Women across Laos will be strengthened in faith and encouraged to live boldly for Christ despite challenges.
- New networks of support will form, encouraging continued prayer and cooperation after the assembly.
- Participants will gain greater awareness of the global Baptist family, nurturing a sense of belonging and shared mission.
- The event will help lay the foundation for a sustainable women’s ministry network in Laos that can grow in future years.
This vision for a nationwide network of women is possible through your generous support of the Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer Offering. Your partnership empowers Laotian women to stand strong in their faith, connect deeply with one another, and experience the unity of the global Baptist women’s family. Together, we are helping the women of Laos grow in faith, love, and witness and return to their communities to Live the Good News.
