Romans 8:28 [NKJV]
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
It has been said that God has no grandchildren. For example, when an individual accepts Jesus Christ as Savior and pledges to follow and serve Him as Lord, that person becomes a child of God. The son or daughter of that person does not automatically become a child or grandchild of God. He or she must make that decision personally and purposefully. God has no grandchildren.
The life of serving God must be a purposeful journey of growing and striving to be all that God intends for each life. God has given us His seal, the gift of the Holy Spirit who lives in each believer – interceding on behalf of that person, leading and guiding the way in the Christian journey.
Let us examine our Theme Scripture:
I. The Christian Woman Loves God
If you do not love God, then you are not one of His. He who does not love, does not know God (1 John 4:7-8). Now, God says those who love Him must keep His commandments and love others – Christians (one another), neighbors, and enemies. The only way a human could love neighbors and enemies is with the aid of the Holy Spirit. It is definitely not easy. Also, it does not come naturally. It is a purposeful, determined action that must be taken. The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to His children to help us walk, talk, think, and process as we go along the road of life’s journey in Christ.
II. The Christian Woman Is Called to Service
When God calls and we answer, we are given gifts and talents to use as we journey along the Christian path. We may be pastors, teachers, healers, encouragers, or givers – whether money, time, or abilities and talents or any other form of gifts. Our calling and purpose make us happy. It is not the passing or fleeting happiness of receiving a gift or meeting and seeing an old friend. It is the lasting joy that no other person can give and no one or nothing can take away.
III. The Christian Woman Has a Purpose
Our purpose is to live to please God and then to enjoy the reward of spending eternity with God in Heaven, receiving the rewards for our service here on Earth. There will be no sickness or sorrow or tears in heaven. No marrying. No friction. No examinations. No need for elections. Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
If we live the way God wants us to live, read the books God wants us to read, do the tasks God wants us to undertake, perform the duties God wants us to do, always act in a way that God wants us to act, keeping a close relationship with our Heavenly Father and always heed the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives, all things work together for GOOD and God will rightly receive all of the glory and praise. It does not mean we are not hurt or burdened or feel distressed. It means that we have a Heavenly Father who understands what we are going through, and He will give us what we need to bear those burdens. We should not be discouraged but should confidently keep on traveling on our journey until our Savior returns or our God calls us home.
Sisters, my prayer today is that we would obey God, use our gifts and talents to serve Him by serving those around us, and live purposefully to please Him in our speech, thoughts, actions, and attitude.
• For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s (Romans 14:8).
• Let your light so shine before men (and women), that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
LET US LIVE A PURPOSEFUL LIFE!
Prayer: Father God, I pray that You would embolden us, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, to live our Christian lives with the purposeful intention to love each other in the body of Christ and those around us who need to know You. Amen!
